The Joint-School Athletic Meet of St. Margaret’s Co-educational English Secondary and Primary School and St. Margaret’s Girls’ College was held on 12 (Heat) and 27 (Final) October 2009 with the Guest of Honour, Dr Tsang Cheuk Kuen to officiate at the Opening Ceremony. In the Opening Ceremony, there was also the Torch Relay Ceremony to celebrate the East Asian Games which will be held in early December 2009 in Hong Kong.
It was impressive indeed when the entrance of the athletes took place. The athletes, the number of which exceeded last year’s by 20%, entered the sports ground and paraded by the Guests of Honour with good spirit and confidence to achieve good results in the competition.
The competition was keen. All the athletes had tried their very best and showed their sportsmanship in the competition. They were cheered and supported by the house cheering teams which were at the same time participating in the House Cheering Competition.
It was a year of good harvest for our school, St. Margaret’s Co-ed. Ten records were broken by our students. Our school continued to win the overall champion for grades A, B and C. Wise House won the House Champion and Civic House won the Cheering Competition. It was the result of the concerted effort of the school management, house teachers and students. We very much hope that we will continue to achieve good results in the Joint-School Athletics Meet next year.
