Thanks to the keen support of all the parents, teachers and staff, the Primary Sports Day and Parent-child Charity Games 2009 were successfully held on 15th October, 2009. It achieved the aims of enjoying sport, having fun, maximizing ones’ potential, and most importantly, raising funds for the Little Sisters of the Poor of the Catholic Diocese, Homes for the Aged in Sheung Shui and Aberdeen, and the School Foundation of St. Margaret’s Educational Organization.
The captioned activity provided everyone with an invaluable and meaningful experience. This event was even more special as a Torch Relay was held in the opening ceremony to celebrate the East Asian Games 2009, which will be hosted by Hong Kong.
The Sports Day, which consisted of a variety of track and field events, was held in the morning. All the primary students participated and keenly competed in both the track and field events. The Parent-child Charity Games held afterwards were the highlight of the day. Five challenging individual games and three exciting parent-child games were held. More than a hundred parents enjoyed a pleasant afternoon with their children. With the parents’ support, the entire event eventually raised HK$ 45,445. It was also our honour to have invited 70 parent helpers to help with the event.
We are glad that the Sports Day and Parent-child Charity Games 2009 turned out to be a complete success. We hope to see you all again next year.
